Brain Metastases

Develop methods for the early detection of brain mets

Brain metastasis affect up to 20% of cancer patients. The Mair, Carroll, Baird, Corrie and O'Carrigan groups are looking to establish whether liquid biopsy can detect brain metastasis as well as start to integrate brain metastasis surveillance into screening programmes.

Develop better models to target and predict response to treatment for brain metastasis

Brain metastases remain poorly characterized and are often resistant to systemic therapy.

The Mair, Brindle and Carroll groups are characterising metastatic cascade through PDOX, looking to predict therapeutic efficacy and resistance mechanisms in brain metastasis.
